Drake
Drake, born October 24, 1986 in Toronto, is a Canadian rapper, singer, record producer and actor with US citizenship. Born to an African American father and Canadian mother, he first gained fame in the early 2000s for playing the role of Jimmy Brooks in the television series Degrassi: The Next Generation. In 2006 he decided to pursue a career as a rapper and singer, releasing his first mixtape, Room for Improvement, followed by two other projects, Comeback Season and So Far Gone, which helped him get noticed in the hip hop scene, so as to succeed, in 2009, to sign a record deal with the Young Money label, founded by rapper Lil Wayne.
